Eminem joined Ed Sheeran on stage during a show to perform a handful of his hits, which made fans go absolutely crazy. Sheeran is now on his Mathematics world tour, which brought him to Detroit. Obviously, this is the birthplace of Marshall Mathers III, better known as Eminem, so Ed decided to invite the rap legend to his show and have him perform a few songs.
Eminem Knows How to Make an Entrance
During his performance at Ford Field, the 32-year-old singer-songwriter performed a cover of Eminem’s popular single “Lose Yourself,” joking that he and his band had only learned the song that day. As the crowd started to sing with him and lose themselves in the music, a hooded person appeared from a trap door next to Ed and joined in the song. When fans realized who it was, they went absolutely crazy.
Ed tweeted a video detailing what had happened. He said that Eminem was going to come on and do one song but he said, “You can’t come to Detroit and just do one song.” When they finished “Lose Yourself,” Ed and Eminem sang the latter’s 2000 hit “Stan,” with Ed singing the parts that Dido sang on the studio version. Eminem even made a special tribute to his hometown audience. He said that he appreciated and loved all his Detroit fans.
Fans Are Going Crazy!
Fans have been praising the joint performance on social media, with one tweeting that Eminem is a legend, while another one added that he’s iconic. A third individual stated that Eminem surely knows how to make an entrance, and the crowd erupted like it was the greatest moment of their lives.
The duo performed together during Eminem’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction earlier this year, as well as on songs including “Remember the Name,” “River,” and “Those Kinda Nights.” So, perhaps we will see more frequent collaborations on more tracks in the future. Maybe Eminem will even return the favor and bring Ed out to a show!
